Nighthaven Woods is a multi-site specialty crop farm and field-based research operation dedicated to long-term agricultural resilience. Across our locations, we specialize in hardy perennials—ornamentals, woody species, native, and medicinal plants—suited to a Grow Zone 6 climate. Our crops are managed for both productivity and ecological integrity, with site-specific strategies tailored to each landscape. This is a closed-site enterprise with a focused directive: to build durable, scalable production systems through disciplined management, data-informed planting, and infrastructure that supports both field operations and long-term enterprise goals. We rely on low-input methods and avoid overextension. Every crop and system is evaluated for function, adaptability, and return over time.
Nighthaven Woods also serves as a testing ground. We track plant performance across seasons, monitor soil health indicators, and evaluate the long-term value of perennial systems in small- to mid-scale agricultural models. Our work bridges hands-on farming and applied research, with an emphasis on replicable systems and measurable outcomes. We operate with an efficient model—prioritizing quality, longevity, and land-based intelligence. While not open to the public, we offer limited tours and seasonal releases of plants, seeds, and propagation material for growers, homesteads, and regional networks. Nighthaven Woods is a production site—and a lab for field-based learning. We grow what the land supports, improving systems and selections over time to meet the future of perennial agriculture.
